My letter to Reince Priebus, RNC Chair

I appreciate your contact [a Survey request] as well as those [donation requests] from others at the RNC. In a larger sense though I appreciate the representation in the House of Representatives by Jim Renacci, our Congressman from House District 16 here in Ohio. Jim is the best example of a House member in my entire voting experience over more than 50 years. Congressman Renacci returns to his District often, holding periodic Town Hall’s which are well attended, meeting with business leaders, meeting in schools with students as well as community organizations. Jim is available, outspoken, transparent, and – most of all – Conservative. I have supported him from the beginning and will continue to do so to the best of my ability and resources. He exemplifies the best in the Republican Party, having earned my loyalty through Principled action.

I expect the same Principled action from the Party, whether it is the Wayne County Republican Party, the Ohio Republican Party (ORP), or the Republican National Committee.

Let me give you the same response to fund requests that I have given prior RNC, and ORP, requests – “Not one thin dime!” I would be happy to support those Party levels when, and only when, I can see a set of Principles stated and Values demonstrated. I do not yet see the “Statement” yet here in Wayne County (hoping to work on it) but I certainly see them in action by office holders. And, I do support the Wayne GOP.

Principles as: America is good; I believe in God and He is the center of my life; I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday; The family is sacred; My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government; If you break the law, you pay the penalty; justice is blind and no one is above it; I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness – but there is no guarantee of equal results; I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to – Government cannot force me to be charitable; It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion; The government works for me – I do not answer to them – They answer to me.

The above demonstrate uniquely American values, such as: Honesty, Reverence, Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation, Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, Gratitude.

Please, present Party members, and fellow Americans, with a statement enumerating Republican values and principles. Please recruit and support candidates who believe and demonstrate them. Please do not support those who claim the Republican mantle and do not live up to Republican standards.

I look forward to seeing those changes in our State and National Parties within my lifetime!
